Welcome back to the BlessedBlog! Today, I really felt compelled to share this bit of Scripture with you. It is almost as if it has been imprinted on my heart today. It brought me tremendous comfort and unexplainable relief.
Let's look at Psalm 23;
"The Lord is my Shepherd,
I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
He leads me beside quiet water,
He refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths,
for His name's sake.
Even though I walk through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me,
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely Your goodness and love will follow me,
all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the
house of the Lord for ever.
This is a beautiful reminder to us Christians, that we should never fear of anything in our lives. We are constantly looked after and guided.
I want to zoom in specifically at Psalm 23:2;
"He makes me lie down in green pastures."
What probably automatically came to your mind is this:
But what the Psalm is actually referring to looks more like this:
The Lord being the Shepherd, would lead the flock to where green pastures would be found. It may not be enough for tomorrow but it is certainly enough for now. The idea is that you trust in the Lord, your Shepherd, to lead you again to more green pastures.
Look at Matthew 6:34;
"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
Even though it is not always clear, our Lord is constantly working to guide us towards the right paths, prosperity happiness and peace.
Life may seem turbulent at times, but as a sheep, a follower of Christ, you trust your Shepherd to provide and lead the way.
To me this served as a reminder that God's divine ways are constantly working through me and for me. All I need to do is simply obey the Shepherd's voice.
All Blessings,
Michael
