No sin is bigger than His grace!

Blessed Tuesday to you all- welcome back to the BlessedBlog. I am incredibly happy to have you all back.

Today I wanted to share my thoughts and feelings on the topic of condemnation. This has been one of the main lessons from my church and from God Himself recently.

Let's start by looking at this verse that jumped out at me as I was doing my reading.

Looking at Romans 8:1;

"Therefore, there is now, no condemnation, for those who are in Christ Jesus."

The Word of God says that we are no longer condemned, no longer living under the law, but under the grace of Jesus Christ.

God Himself is telling us that Jesus' sacrifice was perfect, wholly, and sufficient to pay the price for our sins, and that we are now viewed accordingly- then why do we judge and condemn ourselves?

I feel like I often found myself in this situation. Stumbling and then feeling guilty as if I'm no longer allowed in the presence of Christ. As if I no longer deserve the peace and comfort of the Holy Spirit. This is completely false, untrue and not from God.

I feel so strongly that the Lord has been throwing this reminder at me left, right and centre.

It should really and truly hit all of us. This is an unfathomable amount of grace Jesus Christ is offering us. There is no longer need to feel shame, or guilt or any bad feelings. We are forgiven. But we are never to take advantage of this.

Paul is screaming this at us in Romans 6:1-2;

"What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?"

We no longer live under the law but under this unfathomable, unlimited, truly amazing grace that came from Jesus dying on that cross, and taking on our punishment. It is so important to realise the weight of Christ's death FOR US. What it achieved FOR US.

Romans 5:9;

“Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him! ”

We must stop condemning ourselves for something that Christ has already forgiven and forgotten. If God is no longer angry, why are you?

This is a lesson that I only recently fully perceived. I am forgiven. I live under unconditional love and grace and forgiveness.

But again, by no means does this suggest that we should take advantage of this. It is never okay to wilfully sin and disobey God. However, we now have the assurance that when we inevitably will stumble, and make mistakes, we will be forgiven.

If Christ can forgive you, it is then also super important to forgive yourself and not hold on to it.

Truly, no sin is big enough to separate us from His grace and love. With the right heart, repentance, gratitude and love, we are now able to move on and just focus on the love of Jesus Christ.

God doesn't just look at what we do. He has the ability to do something that no one else can- He can search our hearts.

Our heart says it all for God. If your heart is in the right place, eventually even our actions will line up with it. This is the power of the living Word.

This is why it is so important to get to know God and His voice personally through His Word. It changes everything.

The power of the Word can help overcome anything else that is trying to rob us of our peace, joy and assurance that we are loved and forgiven by Christ.

Therefore...

Make it your mission to truly engage with God every day! Read His Word so that you will recognise His voice when He speaks to you. Seek and you shall find.

Remember that God does not look at our sinful actions but at our hearts. If our hearts have the right intentions, He will see this!

All Blessings,

Michael
