Wishing you all a blessed new start to the week! Thank you for coming back to read this.
Firstly, for any people that may have noticed the lack of activity on my accounts, I would like to apologise and announce my return. One could say that I was going through a period of some trials and tribulations until the Lord came to me and gave me this message that I want to share with you.
While at church yesterday, I heard the Lord continuously repeating that He knows me. Messages of the same sort kept coming up, and I felt very strongly that Jesus wanted to reassure me of His Word- that He knew me before I was in my mother's womb.
To me this was so incredibly hard to understand and remind myself of, until I felt that God had told me Himself.
Looking at Jeremiah 1:5;
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
Can you imagine? Even before your earthly parents laid their hands on you and touched you, God Himself did it first! Not just that...He at that time also already had a great purpose for you. How amazing is that!
God's love for us is simply unfathomable- it is that great.
Actually, when we finally get to meet God in all His glory, there won't be a need for introduction- it will be absolutely obsolete for the One that knows you better than you probably know yourself!
Steven, a member of my church shared such an interesting story. One day, he got the chance to go and speak with a bishop here in Oxford. They have met before, but this bishop gets to meet so many people, so he thought there would be no way he'd remember him. When the meeting came, he thought to himself- I ought to introduce myself again so that it is not awkward.
So he did and he started introducing himself until he got interrupted by the bishop who said- "Haha I know who you are Steven!"
See... there's so many people in this world, and God loves every single person, and I am not particularly significant therefore God doesn't know me. This used to be the sort of things I would think to myself in the past- oh how very wrong I was!
Just like the bishop knew Steven, God truly does know every single person so deeply and intricately, that He even has each of our hairs numbered. How very precious we are to him- this is something that should be embedded on your heart and mind.
Looking at Luke 12:7;
"Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows."
When going about your day, remember that He's always looking after you, reaching out His hand to you, and always unconditionally loving you. No matter what!
For many of us, it is actually about time that we pause, and realise this love that we are being offered, and accept all of it.
Make it your mission this week to study God's Word diligently. Let Him speak to you and show you personally that He loves you!
Remember what your very purpose is in life- to glorify the Lord your God in all that you do.
I want to end today's reminder on this very touching explanation of our purpose from Jesus!
Looking at Matthew 5:13-16;
"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."
My dear friend Joseph, was very gracious to point out while I was discussing this post with him, that his computer wallpaper is such a greater reminder of this for him. So let me share his wallpaper with you;
All Blessings,
Michael
