He is risen! He is risen indeed!

Happy Monday friends! Welcome back to the BlessedBlog- I am super excited to begin writing these short daily devotional messages for you again.

As we begin the week after a beautiful Easter Sunday, I really pray that we are all touched and moved by the joy this time of year brings, and that it motivates us to do amazingly in our weeks.

Today I wanted to briefly reflect with you on my Easter Sunday. I personally spent it celebrating with one of my best friends, and my absolutely wonderful church. What a touching and joyous occasion it was.

We gathered together to sing songs to Jesus, and praise His unfathomable sacrifice, that He did for each and every one of us. So that we may all get a chance to be with God again.

Looking at John 11:25-26;

"Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die: and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?"

Do you truly believe Him? Do you truly understand what that sacrifice on the cross meant?

The story of Easter and the resurrection is not cute, or nice, or wholesome or lovely. It is very much the opposite. The story is ugly, cruel, painful and bloody.

That is the reality of what we all ought to remember. There on that wicked tree, Jesus signed a contract that transferred the sin of all man on Him. He fought the legal battles for justice for us- until He acquitted us.

Looking at 1 Corinthians 15:21;

"For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man."

With this victorious battle for Jesus, something outside of our comprehension happened. The veil was torn. The price of our sins was paid, and God's will was fulfilled.

For all those who put their faith in Jesus, sin and condemnation no longer exist.

As Romans 8:1 says;

"There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit."

For those who accept Jesus as Lord, their lives are no longer ruled and judged by the law. They are now ruled over by unfathomable grace that comes from the Lord Jesus.

Looking at Romans 6:14;

"For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace."

What amazing news! Jesus did not suffer and endure all that in vain. He came out victorious and with that came our ticket to heaven and eternal life with Him.

Looking at Revelation 21:4;

"He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning, or crying, or pain, for the old order of thing has passed away."

The empty tomb we were all celebrating yesterday is a reminder of this very precious and noble act Jesus did for us. This new chance He gave us.

He knew before He even made us, that the only way to have us in heaven and eternally with Him, would involve Him coming down personally to die for us.

The Creator of the universe chose to humbly come as a man- a lowly and meek man. To experience struggles and temptations like us. To live and to work like us. To make relationships like us. To then be flogged, crucified and pierced through His side. With a sword that was at first pointed at us.

But He knew that it was our salvation, and this truly shows the heart of our God. A humble, compassionate and loving God.

So let's celebrate because;

Luke 24:6-7;

"He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 'The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again'"

Amen.

All Blessings,

Michael
